I’ve been friends with Lauren and Randell since high school. We’ve grown close over the years and bond over our love for The Office, SpongeBob, rock music, good food, and our kids. When they asked me to photograph their Colorado elopement, my response was abso-frickin-lutely! I have always loved elopements and the intimate nature of them. The day is always laid back and truly about the couple. They chose Garden of the Gods, and it was the perfect backdrop for their big day. The views were stunning, and it was so nice photographing a different landscape. Ruffly Rose did an amazing job with the blooms, and Brandon Baker (former Disney star) just happened to be their officiant! What a special wedding surprise! We ate dinner at the Rabbit Hole in Colorado Springs following their ceremony and portraits. It’s an Alice in Wonderland themed restaurant under the ground. I highly recommend the rabbit meatloaf!

Describe your wedding day in three words
Perfect, magical, and cold. Haha!
Color palette
We were going for dark, wintery colors.
How did you and Randell meet?
We met in high school in 2007. We were friends for years before we started dating in 2011.
How did he propose?
While I was getting ready for work at home, Randell came in with Mason and said “Mason wants to know if you’ll marry me.” It was so simple and sweet and couldn’t have been more perfect. Of course I said Yes!
Favorite moment from your wedding day
Lauren: I think my favorite part was when we stopped and looked around at everything we were surrounded by during our ceremony. It was nice to take a moment and soak it all in. The views were incredible.
Randell: My favorite moment was our first look in the snow.
