Beau Chene Wedding | Bailey + David

Describe your wedding day in three words
Magical, unforgettable, lucky
I seriously can’t think of another word for it. We had some very special angels in heaven watching over us that day. With minutes to go before the ceremony, 100% rain forecasted high winds and large clouds flooding the sky. Emotions were high praying to the Lord and our ppl to hold out as long as humanly possible to, at the very least, get through our ceremony without rain. Our angels showed up and showed out! They kept the rain away and even brought some breeze to what was supposed to be a high 90 degree day. We not only got through the ceremony but all of our family and couple’s portraits as well. I can’t make up that David and I had gotten off the golf cart and walked into the back door of Beau Chene when not even seconds after the heavens OPENED UP! Sheer luck and some amazing family who we had prayed to be with us even if they physically could not be that day.

How did you and David meet?
David and I actually met each other in 2016 at Red Dress Run in New Orleans through mutual friends. We had the best day together and even shared a good night kiss. Life had different plans for us though as we went our separate ways the next day. Fast forward 4 years later we were both single and those same friends set us up to be wedding dates. We spent the weekend catching up on lost time, and I guess you can say the rest is history!

How did he propose?
David and I both love a good glass of wine and a couch concert. After a long day and week of work, we decided to have a glass of wine and enjoy a typical nightly couch concert. In the middle of our favorite Alicia Keys and John Mayer concert while they performed our wedding day song If I Ain’t Got You, David got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was the most intimate and most perfect moment ever. It took me seconds to scream YES!

Most memorable moments from your wedding day:
The small quiet moments between David and I, as well as our friends and family. We both individually had the best days leading up to the wedding. David spent quality time with all his best friends and family by the pool reminiscing on memories over the years and just truly enjoying time together before start time. I had the most calm morning doing makeup and hair and enjoying breakfast with all of my best friends and mom again talking about memories together over the years and just again truly enjoying time together. We laughed and played games and the time flew by and I weirdly felt so calm and peaceful (minus the small weather hiccup) leading up to go time. The 15-20 minutes I had alone with my dad before and during walking down the isle were so special, such small moments, such big words and emotions filled those few minutes but some I will truly never forget. Time spent between David and I during the ceremony, taking our portraits and eating our first meal as husband and wife. Although time flew by in reality, for those moments it truly stood so still and I can vividly remember true pure happiness and love and so so many amazing moments and emotions that flooded what seemed to be like a few seconds in our life. And we both talked about just hugging people we hadn’t seen in years, asking how they were doing and spending the few minutes that we could catching up on last time. A wedding brings so many people you love and have loved and cared for in your life, and it’s truly so special to see and spent if only a few seconds with them all. Our day was so incredibly perfect and so worth all the planning and thought that went in before hand. I will always cherish those moments, the very very small ones you sometimes forget about honestly for the rest of my life.
