Since they grew up in New Orleans where everybody knows everybody, it was inevitable that Katie and Pat would meet in high school. They remained friends, crossing paths on occasion, but they didn’t get together until they were in college. Katie came home from LSU one weekend and ran into Pat while out with friends. After talking for hours and realizing all of their shared interests, the two made it a point to see each other as often as possible. Shortly after, they attended Katie’s formal and danced the night away. It was safe to say that Katie had found her dancing partner for life!
Pat caught Katie completely by surprise when he proposed on their trip to California. The two of them started their trip in San Francisco and spent their days exploring the city by bike and enjoying all that the Bay Area had to offer. After a couple days wining and dining in San Francisco, they rented a car and began their road trip down the coast. They hopped from one AirBnB to the next and ended up in a beautiful home near Carmel in Big Sur. After a long day of hiking, Pat had plans for the two of them to go explore the private beach that was a part of their AirBnB. As the sun was setting and the cold breeze from the Pacific rolled in, Katie thought he was nuts to want to have a glass of wine on the beach when it was so cold out. He promised it would be worth it 🙂 So, as they sat there watching the sunset (imagine the opening beach scene from Grease) Pat asked Katie to be by his side forever, tears were shed, and she said yes!
On our wedding day, we are most excited to spend the day with our closest friends and family and dance the night away. Any excuse to get down and celebrate love and life is ok with us! Obviously, the whole getting married thing will be pretty awesome too 😉
Well Pat has always been cool, while I used to play the tuba and had a uni-brow. Not sure how I got so lucky 🙂 We currently have two bloodhounds – Buster and Birdie – who we are slightly obsessed with and claim as our fur children. We are big foodies and love to try all the delicious food the Big Easy has to offer. We also love live music and traveling to see our favorite groups whenever we get the opportunity!
