Carolina + John

Every little detail about Carolina and John’s wedding was so beautiful and special. I loved getting to know them during their engagement session (which can be seen here) and their wedding. Guests traveled from Honduras, which is where Carolina is from, New York City, Florida, and Texas to attend their special day.

John and I met on February 27, 2010 through a mutual friend. At the time I was working at the airport and my co-worker/friend Elgin suggested I meet his friend named John. I was hesitant as I really wasn’t looking for a relationship, but he insisted that John was a cool guy, really nice and that we should set up a double date with him and his girlfriend at the time (now wife.) I agreed to met them at Lagers in Metairie. My first impression was that John was a really nice guy and so funny. I loved a guy who could make me laugh. Later that night, we went to a bar were we continued to engage in conversation, laughing, and talking. At the end of the night John asked me for my phone number, and he said he’d call me the next day. As I went home that night I thought about how much I enjoyed myself with him, but I was so sure that he would not call me the next day. Sure enough John called me the next the day and asked me out on a second date to which I agreed, and the rest is history ;-). It’s funny because the friend that introduced us Elgin, well before John and I had met, John had introduced Elgin to his friend named Tonya. Tonya and Elgin are now married with a little boy, funny how things work.

John proposed on July 14, 2014 (my 25th birthday) at my mom’s house with my mom, my sister, and my niece present. You see, John had picked up my ring from the jewelry store that day. He didn’t know that it would be ready so soon so he didn’t have a whole lot of time to plan anything, and he didn’t want to wait any longer. So he got down on one knee and popped the question. I was completely surprised; I remember crying a lot, and I couldn’t stop gawking at the ring.

The most memorable moment was the Pedicab ride (get away vehicle.) After the sparkler send off, a pedicab with a bottle of champagne awaited us. John and I both agreed that it was the most memorable moment because it was the first time that we got to enjoy each other’s company. Wedding days can be so hectic and busy that you hardly get a chance to talk to your other half. So the pedicab gave us the opportunity to catch up and talk about the whole day, and what we each had experienced. The pedicab took us through the French Quarter and Bourbon street. We really felt special because everyone kept congratulating us and throwing Mardi Gras beads to us. Gotta love New Orleans!
