Jessica and Dave met in the fall of 2010, when Jessica was a visiting medical student at Tulane in the department of surgery. Dave was one of the chief residents. The chief on Jessica’s rotation was one of Dave’s best friends, so he introduced them. They went on their first date on Jessica’s last day in New Orleans, to Dr. McSwain’s fall party. Jessica left to return to Ohio the next day, but their long distance relationship evolved quickly, and she chose to do residency in New Orleans several months later. Jessica was leaving for Los Angeles in June 2014 to start her research fellowship, so prior to that they took a vacation to the Caribbean island of Nevis. The first full day, they went to a beachfront dinner, where Dave proposed at sunset. Jessica and Dave had guests travel from all over the country attend their special day– California, Texas, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Alabama, DC, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, NC, and New York.

From the bride: The most memorable moments from our wedding day was spending the whole day with my best friends from different stages in my life, watching them become friends, was really special. My other favorite memory from the day was the father-daughter dance. My dad was more nervous than I was on my wedding day, so seeing him really relax and have fun during our dance was very emotional for me.
