I’ve always heard the phrase, “The days are long but the years are short…” but don’t think I fully grasped its meaning until recently. I have come to a point in life where these words are so REAL. At times I feel like I want to physically grab hold of something to attempt to make things slow down- it feels like everything is moving way too quickly!! My biggest baby will be 18 this year and my smallest will be 5. I’m trying to remember to be present and IN the moment each day because it’s not slowing down, and we don’t get a second chance at today. I treasure each one of the people who make up the amazing group that I am blessed to call my family! I find myself staring at each of the kids- taking in everything I can- just as I did only a short time ago when I held them in my arms as tiny babies… never wanting to put them down, just soaking it all in. I needed someone to capture these moments- the games, the smiles, the fun, the joy- the sweet moments that are a part of our everyday but that as time moves on may become blurry and hazy. I want to remember each of these moments forever. While I know that I can’t stop time (try as I might)- I truly am so excited about what the future holds for us! I know God has amazing things in store.
I am so grateful to Lauren… that she was able to do exactly what my heart desired… capture our everyday so that I can hold onto a bit of it forever <3 – Shannon
