The House that Love Builds
Surround yourself with golden memories,
& plans for GREAT, BIG ROAD TRIPS.
Take time to dream & laugh & cry,
& don’t forget to look through the eyes of your kids.
WHO CARES if your home is featured in a fancy magazine,
Build with FAITH & Decorate with LOVE,
Because the most important things in life
are the ones we cannot see!
Home is the greatest gift we can cultivate,
Better than any store bought gift.
A habitation of security, laughter, honesty
Warmth, chaos, peace & forgiveness.
A dwelling place of young & old.
Where everyone belongs.
To make merry, create, & learn
A place where the lights are ALWAYS ON.
So invite your friends to come over,
Forget about the mess.
An invitation of the heart,
Communion of brokenness.
Though dark times will come,
They will not remain.
The songs of the home
Will drown out the melodies pain.
BREATHE IN DEEP, as you rise each morning,
Take a few minutes to stretch before this MIRACULOUS TASK.
Our children grow best in houses of LOVE,
We are to create a HOME, not a MASK.
Because this ROLE OF MOM has a strict time frame,
Like sands through an hour glass,
Tiny hand prints & dirty tennis shoes,
Will be whispers of a GLORIOUS past.
Of all the sandcastles & other lifetime endeavors,
There is only one thing that comes with zero regrets.
The homes built inside of others hearts,
& the friendships of the soul that are knit.
For life is so very fleeting
So buckle in, have fun & hold on
While on this wild ride called life–
REMEMBER All LOVE BEGINS AT HOME.
A poem by Winnie Hughes. Thank you for opening your home and heart! You are an inspiration to Emma and me! <3
