My wedding day was thus far the happiest day of my life. My favorite “thing” about my wedding day was probably the ambiance of the whole thing. There was love and laughter all around and I loved being immersed in it. My favorite “moment” was the first look. it was so special and important for me to have a few private moments with Hunter just the two of us. We read letters to one another, exchanged gifts, and were also able to pray together before the craziness of the day set in. I will treasure those twenty minutes in my heart forever.
Hunter and I have a pretty unique love story. We met at a junior high church retreat at Camp Living Waters in 2009 when we were both in the 7th grade. I was twelve and he was thirteen. On the first night of camp, a mutual friend of ours introduced me to Hunter and I was head over heels for him after that. By the last night of camp, we were holding hands and flirting at the retreat’s annual bonfire. We exchanged phone numbers, and after a couple months, we started dating. We have been together ever since.
Over the past seven years, we have made more happy memories than I can possibly count. We have laughed together, cried together, visited foreign countries together, and everything in between. I am very excited to watch how the years we have spent together have molded a beautiful foundation for our marriage. God has truly blessed us both, and we will forever be grateful.
In the Christmas of 2013 I traveled with Hunter’s family to Asheville, North Carolina for vacation. It is absolutely gorgeous there, and one of the main things I wanted to do while there was hike to some waterfalls. We went to Dupont State Forest and while I was trying to capture a picture of one of the magnificent falls there, I heard Hunter say my name. I turned around and he was down on one knee. I was so surprised and ecstatic. It was definitely one of the most romantic things he’s ever done.
Hunter knew that aside from photography, decorations were one of the most important parts of the wedding day for me. Everything from the lights above the dance floor, the beautiful fabric on the oak tree, and even the log candles on the table was all him (and his trusty groomsmen were helpful as well!) He definitely made it possible for all of my dreams to come true, and I am so thankful.
