I have gotten to know Samantha & Ziggy from the time they booked me for their wedding, and they have become friends of mine. They are such an eccentric couple that I absolutely adore! I knew from the start that I would just LOVE working with them and capturing this special moment in their life. I just can’t get over how precious Samantha’s little girl is! So adorable!! Their wedding took place on a beautiful November day.
How they met: Ziggy and Samantha were introduced by his cousin, Kira. They first met at Ninja Sushi uptown. Their second date was a marathon date including dinner, dessert, and coffee in three separate locations with hours of conversation. Their third date, Ziggy surprised Samantha with an autographed photo from George Strait.
How he proposed: Ziggy and Samantha had plans to go to dinner with his parents for their wedding anniversary. They had reservations at Muriel’s. Upon arrival, they were taken upstairs to the private wine room where Ziggy’s parents were waiting at a rather large table that filled up the entire room. After chatting for a few minutes, Samantha realized that they had not toasted his parents on their anniversary. After saying a few short words, Ziggy stood up and had something to say. He mentioned how wonderful it was that they had been married and happy for such a long time and that, one day, he hopes to have a very long marriage like that with Samantha. The next thing Samantha knew, Ziggy was next her on one knee asking her and Taylor (Samantha’s Daughter) to marry him. After accepting, Ziggy points over her shoulder. When she turns around Samantha’s Dad, Step-Mom, and their good friend Scott were standing in the door way! Ziggy had flown Samantha’s Dad and Step-mom in from San Diego to be there for the big night. Samantha was completely surprised!!!
Why New Orleans? Living in New Orleans, Samantha and Ziggy knew there was no other place that they wanted to get married. Despite having lots of out of town guests, they knew that everyone would love the city just as much as they do. They love the antiquity and liveliness that the city has to offer.
