October

October is one of my favorite months for many reasons. It could be the fall coffee flavors that soothe my coffee loving soul, or the deep colors of the clothes that have been stashed away in my closet all year that I can finally wear again, or the crisp air that makes me feel like I’m falling in love. This October was extra special to me for many reasons. It was beautiful. It restored my soul. It made me feel alive! I shared this month with friends, home cooked meals, dress up days with Emma, photographing the most gorgeous weddings, and enjoying my new space.

I kicked off October with hosting a house show. Three talented bands and a spoken word poet performed and people from all over came to enjoy it. It’s something I’ve never done, but it was absolutely incredible! Check them out here:

Another big highlight of October was completing my dining room. I had Rusty Rooster design and build an 8 foot table and kitchen island for me. I finished them off with modern style chairs. I am in love!

My lovely friend Catherine and I enjoyed each day with Emma. We sat on our favorite throw blankets in the yard and cooked new dishes. Our new favorite brunch — an Israeli recipe — shakshuka.

In October I hosted a couple of Catherine’s bible studies in my home over warm apple pie and dinner. It’s such a heartwarming, cozy experience. I love bonding with the girls and sharing our love for life and Jesus.

    Lauren –
This is so sweet. I really enjoyed this post and love seeing what you’re up to outside of your professional career. You are a talented, sensitive, and lovely woman. I’m so glad to know you and wish we lived closer together so our children could have play dates. ♥
