The start of my fall season couldn’t have been better. I had the honor of photographing this amazing couple on a rooftop in the heart of New Orleans. The fantastic weather and view was to die for. I am so excited to share Joe and Josh’s wedding day and story!
A word from Joe: Josh and I met online, not telling which app! We exchanged numbers and talked for a week before I actually came down to Lafayette and went on our first date. I was living in Leesville stationed at Ft. Polk. That date went awesome, so a few days later we both met up in Lake Charles for a second date; that also went well. That same weekend he invited me to attend a UL Football game and tailgate. There I met his family and friends and remembered thinking to myself that this could go far.
Like a good Yankee in Southern territory I asked his parents, brother, and twin brother for permission before asking. I notified close friends and informed them I’d be asking Josh during our sand volleyball game at VolleyBeach in Lafayette. So, with friends and family hiding in the parking lot and a ring in my shorts I knelt down and asked him to marry me! On the court in the sand ;) He obviously said yes to the cheers and cries of everyone who was present.

Our favorite memory was the end. We wanted a fun song to end the night so we decided to play “Friends in Low Places” by Garth Brooks. We had no idea that everyone would surround us in a circle singing along side the song!? At the end of the song, our entire group of friends and family dog piled us! It was such an unexpected show of love that caught us off guard. We loved it!!
