How did you two meet?
We met in law school through friends initially. A few weeks after that, Blair was walking out of a two day law school competition where he had won some prize money when he ran into me leaving the library. We started talking and Blair asked me if I wanted to go have a few drinks with him to celebrate.
How did Blair propose?
Blair took me to the Dallas Museum of Art, the Nasher Sculpture Garden, and then to the Dallas Arboretum. I had always loved roses, so Blair ended up proposing on a bended knee in the middle of the Rose Mary Haggar Rose Garden. Afterwards, we celebrated by having dinner in Reunion Tower, better known as the Dallas Ball.
When we first got engaged, we planned on having a traditional wedding in Austin. The more we started planning, though, the more we realized that we would rather have a smaller wedding with our closest family and loved ones, and that our favorite, most memorable weddings had all been destination weddings.
Both of us had vacationed in New Orleans numerous times and loved the city’s history, food, and charm. When I mentioned that we could have it in New Orleans, there was no turning back, and we still couldn’t be happier with our decision!
Our favorite moment from the wedding was the second line. It had rained all day, so we didn’t think it was even going to happen. Once the reception started, though, the skies parted, the rain stopped, and the parade began! It was a lot of fun to dance down the streets of New Orleans with our friends and loved ones, and it’s a moment that neither of us will ever forget!
