I just LOVE my out of state brides who want to share the New Orleans experience with their loved ones. There is truly something magical about this city. Amanda and Joel shared their special day in the quarter with family and friends from all over.
How they met: Joel and Amanda met in college at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. They were friends first and eventually started dating after they graduated.
How he proposed: Amanda and Joel currently live in Jersey City, NJ. They venture into Manhattan now and then to meet up with friends, explore restaurants, museums, and lounge in the various parks. One day, they had planned to head to the city to meet some friends to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Joel suggested they walk through Central Park. Amanda was not too thrilled because of the drizzling rain. However, he was adamant and even wanted to walk to a specific part of the park. As they reached the famous Bow Bridge, the sun was finally shining. Joel got down on one knee and said something amazing, although Amanda’s brain was a complete blur. Next thing she knew, she was saying yes and people were clapping around them! It was perfect. <3
Why New Orleans? Amanda and Joel chose New Orleans to wed because they wanted to do something a bit different that their friends and families would remember. They love New Orleans for its mysterious history, gorgeous architecture, amazing music, food, drinks, and its endless energy. They knew their guests would be able to make a vacation out of it and have an amazing time. They went with the flow of the local wedding customs and traditions and had the most incredible day imaginable!
